Minimalist style
Simplicity and modesty mostly describe minimalism. In this style, all elements must harmonize to create a balanced whole. Less is more. The overall impression of the interior is what matters most.
Minimalist apartments are usually spacious with plenty of free, unoccupied space and only essential furniture. The design features simple angles and geometric shapes. Wall and furniture colours should be subdued, using a limited palette. Black, white, and grey are the most popular colours in minimalism. Avoid strong contrasts between black and white. Instead, use greys and beiges to soften the look.
Minimalism is characterized by smooth surfaces such as cast resin floors, transparent glass panes, and tiles with matte or glossy finishes. Ornaments and patterns are rare. The main colours are black, white, and shades of grey. Walls should be bright to create an open, spacious feel. It is also important to protect wooden surfaces, which are often present in neutral colours in minimalist interiors.
