Vintage style

A characteristic feature of this style is combining opposites, usually achieved in three ways: styling new things based on previous eras, introducing old, stylish furniture into modern interiors, or adding modern elements to interiors with traditional styles. This style draws inspiration from the 40s, 50s, and 60s of the last century. Any object at least 25 years old is considered vintage.

This interior style primarily emphasizes the use of natural materials and maintaining the right colours. Dominant colours include chamomile yellow, bottle green, indigo blue, orange, and rusty tones. There is room for both psychedelic colours and sepia shades reminiscent of old photographs. White also serves as a good base to showcase interesting items and furniture, bringing everything together into one harmonious whole.

You can also highlight parts of the room with interesting textures. Paint can be used to create decorative effects. Bold combinations of copper or gold with silver are increasingly popular. Choosing contrasting accessories like picture frames or lamps on a wall painted in one of these colours creates a striking effect. Vintage freely blends the past with the present, mixing modern elements into old interiors and incorporating antique pieces into contemporary spaces. The same applies to materials — traditional ones mixed with modern. Against a background of concrete, glass, or steel, old recycled wooden items, wicker baskets, or ceramics from grandmother’s heritage fit perfectly.
