Chromatic and real design
CHROMATIC
The use of CHROMATIC SYSTEM® technology is recommended for color creation to guarantee professionals the highest quality standards. The performance of the CHROMATIC SYSTEM® is achieved through rigorous processes and precise control of color formulation: research, equipment, and the maintenance of tinting machines.

The PPG CHROMATIC color chart provides an overview of 1,170 available colors.
CHROMATIC includes a selection ranging from the most widely used shades on the market to those reflecting future trends. CHROMATIC SYSTEM® technology ensures excellent opacity, precise colors, perfect reproducibility, exceptional durability, and an extensive color offering. Outlets equipped with the system have access to a database of 4 million colors.
- A unique color fan deck for all PPG brands and across all channels.
- A differentiated color range: inspirational, trendy, unique, recognizable, and evolving.
- A color brand for both professionals and consumers.
CHROMATIC® benefits from a special classification of its shades: starting with a wide selection of colored whites, followed by soft pastels, medium and intense colors, and concluding with subtle greyed tones. Each CHROMATIC® color is identified by the prefix CH1, followed by a 4-digit number and a name. These references must be provided when ordering.
In the color index, a pricing column indicates either the letter P or V, representing the pricing category: P for pastel tones and V for vivid tones.
CHROMATIC FACADE
The CHROMATIC® Façade color chart is designed to meet the needs of professional painters, architects, and building owners for all façade or exterior projects. The colors are formulated with inorganic-mineral pigments, providing improved coverage as well as resistance to chemicals and strong sunlight.
In some countries, standards and regulations governing thermal insulation systems may recommend the use of paints with a low coefficient of sunlight absorption to minimize heat accumulation. The TSR value (Total Solar Reflectance)—which indicates the reflected light value—is listed for each shade in the CHROMATIC® Façade range. A TSR value above 0.35 is recommended.
Tints marked with the OUC logo may still be suitable for outdoor use—even if the TSR is below 0.35—if tinted using OUC technology.
In the index pages, you will find:
- The name and number of each shade
- A pricing column with P (pastel tones), V (vivid tones), or OUC (Outside Unlimited Colours)
- The page number where the color is located
RAL CLASSIC AND RAL DESIGN
The RAL color card is a globally recognized color system, divided into RAL CLASSIC and RAL DESIGN.
- RAL CLASSIC consists of 213 shades and is mainly used in industrial production (e.g., steel construction, furniture manufacturing).
- RAL DESIGN includes 1,625 shades and is ideal for complex color solutions in interior spaces (such as apartments) and industrial buildings.
