In rooms designed for rest or sleep, it is better to choose subdued colours that create a cozy atmosphere. Even if you love bright colours, your mind tends to relax more easily with tones inspired by nature. Warm colours work perfectly here, such as brown, beige, or pastel pinks and oranges.

If you prefer bold colours and want to make a statement, deep reds can be a great choice. However, keep in mind that darker shades will visually shrink the room. In this case, it is best to use a strong accent on just one wall.

Cool colours are often popular for bedrooms, but this is not a strict rule. If you are drawn to calm blues or muted greens, consider how much natural sunlight your bedroom receives. Ideally, if your windows face east, paint the walls with bright, reflective finishes to beautifully bounce light around the room even with cool colours. At night, use spotlights that provide soft, warm light, such as those with a golden hue, to maintain a cozy atmosphere.
